Virginia West returns to the Toronto Festival of Clowns after premièring Dapper’s Big Day in the 2013 Triple Bill series. Dapper the genderqueer clown is back. This time we get a glimpse of Dapper on a particularly difficult day in their past. Dapper was once a little tomboy. She liked baseball and bike riding and jeans. On this miserable day she has to wear a stupid dress because she has to be the stupid flower girl at her aunt’s stupid wedding. She has to stand at the front of the church and act like a lady and BEHAVE! What if, with so many people watching her and making her nervous, she forgets how to be a lady? And what if her dress flips up and someone sees her panties? And what if one more person smiles at her and tells her how pretty she looks? Would she really get in trouble for punching someone for saying something like that?
